FAQs

What is unique about Easterfest at Taves?
  • We offer a Spring carriage with the Easter Bunny.
  • We have snuggle pens as well as a petting barn where you can go in with the animals as well as feed the goats.
  • We have a hayride that takes you to an egg hunt that has limited capacity at any given time so it is not too chaotic.
  • We offer a dog TREATpass with a dog specific egg hunt area.
  • We have a cidery onsite so adults can have some drinks in our family friendly picnic area after the kids activities are done.

Friday April 18th to Sunday April 20th

The farm opens at 9:30am and the first hayride will leave at approximately 9:40am. The hayride will run every 20 minutes until 3:30pm.

The concession will open at 10:00am for sweet treats and start serving meals from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The java hut will be open for hot beverages at 9:30am.

Please try to arrive at the farm at least ½ hr before your hayride time (unless you select the first time slot of the day) so that you can check in and get to the loading area. You may arrive early or stay on the farm until closing to enjoy all the farm activities, however please make sure you take your hayride during your booked time. If you are late for your hayride, please wait in the standby line for the next available ride.

YES…ALL guests ages 3 and up must have an Easterfest Pass to enter the farm.

You can just purchase the Easterfest passes and have access to all areas of the farm including the hayride down to the Egg Hunt. However, please note you may NOT collect treats or participate in the egg hunt without a TREATpass.

NO… children 2 and under are FREE to enter the farm. However, if you want them to collect treats at the stations around the farm and participate in the egg hunt you will need to select and purchase a TREATpass for them.

NO…only those who want to participate in the egg hunt and collect treats at the stations around the farm will need a TREATpass. If your children are too young, too old or just not interested in collecting treats, you do not need to purchase them a TREATpass. TREATpasses are $13.75 plus tx per child on any day you choose to come. Please buy ahead as we will have limited treats available.

YES… The Easter Bunny will be at the carriage from 10:30am to 11:30am, 12:30am to 1:30pm and 2:30pm to 3:30pm for you to take your own photographs. First come, first served.

YES…you can bring your dog to most areas of the farm as long as they are on leash and well behaved. You can even add on a dog TREATpass and take them around the farm to collect their own treats at the stations and on the hayride to the egg hunt. NEW this year, dogs will have their own Egg Hunt area separate from the children. Please do not allow your dog in the children’s egg hunt area, the petting barn or the Country Store. Dogs are allowed in the picnic area of both Applebarn and Taves Estate Cidery as well as our Farmville area.

Your pup will walk around to 6 stations to collect some unique dog treats and toys. NEW this year, they will have their own egg hunt as well as be able to visit Taves Estate Cidery to get a puppy bojito (mini cup of bone broth with whipped cream).
TREATpasses are $13.75 plus tx per dog on any day you choose to come.

Farmville is open which includes a jumping pillow, pedal karts and a whole host of barnyard animals to view including goats, alpacas, turkeys, chickens, ducks, sheep, pigs and rabbits. In addition, the petting barn, country store and concession will be open. The hayride will be running every 20 minutes to take you around the farm (and if you have a TREATpasses your group can collect eggs at the egg hunt).

New this year, we have baby animal snuggle pens in our school zone as well as our spring carriage where the Easter Bunny will be! The Easter Bunny will be at the carriage from 10:30am to 11:30am, 12:30am to 1:30pm and 2:30pm to 3:30pm for you to take your own photographs. First come, first served.

YES…all guests with the Easterfest Pass are able to enter both the bunny and goat pens to pet the animals. The new snuggle pens located by Farmville will also have animals you can go in and pet. One family per pen at a time please. Goat feed is available onsite for purchase.

YES…We recommend buying online as there is a set number of Easterfest TREATpasses available. Get yours early before they sell out! A limited number of farm admissions will be available at the gate.

Come to the main guest parking lot and follow the parking signs. You’ll drive into our field for parking and enter the farm through our TICKET BIN located in the middle of the field. Bring an email copy of our tickets or the QR code for check in or show it on your phone. You will be given tickets to collect your food items from our concession.

YES…We have a full service washroom with men, women’s and family stalls. We also have an accessible stall complete with a baby change table available onsite

The Java Hunt will open at 9:30am for hot drinks like coffee, cider and hot chocolate. The concession will open at 10:00am with donuts, ice cream, slushies and other sweet treats. Hot dog Hoppy meals, pulled pork combos, taco in a bag and mac n’ cheese options will be available from 11:00am until we close the concession at 4:00pm.

In the event of illness we always recommend you gift or sell your tickets to someone you know who can join us. There are NO refunds or credits on any treat passes or food items purchased for the event. We MAY give credits for your admission passes but only in extreme circumstances. All requests for credits must be done BEFORE the event and should be sent via email to [email protected]. We reserve the right to decide if reasons for not attending are valid. The event will run rain or shine. We have tents and picnic tables available. Please dress for the weather. There are no credits or refunds for weather.

YES…Taves Estate Cidery will be open from 10:30AM to 5:00 PMFriday to Sunday. On Saturday afternoon from 2:30PM – 4:30PM they will be celebrating their fifth anniversary with live music by Ryan McAllister.

YES…We have both hard and soft cider flights and specialty cocktails as well as bottles available for sale.

YES…Children can enter the picnic area and goat pens with adult supervision, but the lounge area is for guests ages 19 and over. Please remember to bring 2 pieces of government issued ID if you want to enter the lounge or buy alcohol.

YES…The goat pens at TEC are complimentary for guests of the cidery who have made a purchase from the tasting room (either snacks or drinks). Please check in at the tasting room before entering the attached picnic areas and goat pens.
