Butterfly Release

Celebrate hope this spring season by releasing your very own butterfly. Your visit will also spread hope thru a donation to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. While you’re here, spend some time visiting with Billy & the Barnyard Gang at GOATerdays.

Receive a carefully packaged butterfly and we’ll assign you your own space on our farm where you can go to release your butterfly OR take your butterfly away with you to release at your own meaningful location.

Butterfly Barnyard Packages include ONE ‘Painted Lady’ butterfly, ONE entrance ticket to GOATerdays and a $5.00 donation to Canuck Place. Additional butterflies and GOATerdays entrance tickets can be purchased. You may want to add on some treats like apple cider slushies, mini donuts and goat feed.

DATE: Saturday & Sunday, June 12th & 13th
TIME: 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm
PRICE: $30 per butterfly barnyard package

Please pre-register online to secure your Butterfly barnyard package and chosen time slot for the visit. Numbers are limited.

Did you know?

  • The painted lady is the most widely distributed butterfly in the world, found on nearly all continents and in many different climates
  • Being such a familiar visitor to most gardens, they are a favorite subject of study in elementary school classrooms
  • They can fly fast and far, known to reach up to 30km/hr and travel up to 100 miles in a day!
  • Their caterpillars love to feast on thistle plants, which is why they may also be known as ‘Thistle Butterflies’
Get to observe one up close and personal before sending it on its way in the world!

Consider an additional donation to Canuck Place

In the spirit of spreading hope, we have provided an option for you to increase your donation to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice when booking your Butterfly Barnyard package. You will see the option become visible once a date and time has been chosen on the booking webpage.

This donation goes directly to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, a place of comfort and compassion where children can receive expert clinical and palliative care while experiencing the simple joys of being a child with their families at their side, savouring their time together.
